Marbled Notebooks

The Brand: In 1918 in Lisbon, Portugal, Emílio da Silva Braga founded a small stationery store, which quickly became a cherished landmark in the city. Papelaria Emílio Braga became more than a store, and is a haven for those who appreciate the art of writing and the elegance of craftsmanship. Before producing the vibrant array of colors that now define their notebooks, Emílio Braga originally made notebooks for accounting and commercial purposes - even making all of the stationery for PanAm Airlines in the 1950s! Today, over a century later, and through nearly four generations, Emílio Braga Lda. still keeps the founder's legacy alive, producing each notebook with the same artisanal dedication that has defined the brand since the beginning.

Description:  A very special, stand out notebook.  Handmade through and through, from the glueing to the sewing to the colored edges- we love so many of the thoughtful details of these notebooks. Hard covered with a marble print and elastic closure, the 90 gram cream colored paper is smooth and takes both pencil and ink beautifully. Each notebook has blank pages, but comes with a doubled-sided card with lines or grid to slip behind a sheet to serve as a writing guide. (secretly looks like you have perfectly straight writing!) A label is included so you can identify what’s in your notebook, or to let everyone know this notebook belongs to you.

Details: 4 3/4” x 6 3/4” x 3/4”. Hardcover with elastic band. Blank smooth pages. Lined and grid writing guide card included. Cloth bound. Handmade in Portugal.

A Note From Erika: These are a perfect little size. I love anything marbled and the primary color combinations of red, yellow and blue are unexpected and familiar at the same time. The elastic band keeps everything together if you’re like me and tuck loose sheets into your notebooks- very handy.
