The Brand: Haptic Lab is rooted in a history of using sensory design with intention, to do good, and find a way. Founded by Emily Fischer, a Brooklyn-based architect, the first product Emily created was a quilted map when her mother was diagnosed with glaucoma — these early projects were meant to be used as a wayfinding tool for the visually impaired. Helping people “see” through their sense of touch, their Haptic sense. Honoring this history, today, Haptic Lab continues to specialize in tactile and sensory design, designing objects and spaces that thoughtfully explore the sense of touch and feel.
