The Brand: Using jewelry as her format, Kelly Jean Conroy explores her memories with nature as a child and observations of life cycles as a material source. "I believe jewelry contains the power to hold memories, experiences, people, and creatures within, allowing the wearer to remember and hold close. It is an honor to create work that will hopefully share its beauty and happiness with the wearer." Based in Boston, she considers herself equal part teacher and maker, teaching metal smithing full time at her local high school as well as jewelry courses at Haystack School of Craft, Peters Valley School of Craft, and MCAD. Her specialties are enameling, painting in enamel, laser cutting, and casting. She works with natural materials, carving bone and piercing mother of pearl.

Description: This delicate necklace brings such enchantment. A hand laser etched illustration onto mother of pearl, the recessed drawing is then filled with ink to create a scene within the rich white surface of the pearl. It is then set in sterling silver that has been oxidized black. The mother of pearl adds an ethereal quality, as it reflects subtle iridescent hues while catching light.

Details: Laser etched illustration of a feather, nest, and egg on mother-of-pearl set in oxidized sterling silver. Lobster clasp. Pendant measures 1 3/4” x 3/4”. 19.5” length

A Note From Erika: This one is set with a solid back, making it weighty in a good way. Feels good in your hand, like a worry stone.
