A hand laser etched illustration onto mother of pearl, the recessed drawing is then filled with ink to create a scene within the rich white surface of the pearl. It is then set in sterling silver that has been oxidized black. The mother of pearl adds an ethereal quality, as it reflects subtle iridescent hues while catching light.
