wheel thrown mini vases
The Brand: Yuta Segawa, a Japanese ceramic artist based in London, creates intimate vessels that bridge traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary minimalism. Segawa's decision to downsize the traditional craft of ceramics was driven by a desire to challenge himself. As he explains, “There's an enigmatic allure to crafting miniature pots. You don't require a grand scale to convey the beauty of clay, glazes, and forms.” Using mostly porcelain, each tiny vase is hand thrown on the wheel and then glazed in vibrant colors with his own homemade recipes.
Description: These are so joyful perched on a shelf, on a desk, or in a windowsill. Each is fascinating on its own, or perfect for holding a found bird feather, a stick of incense or a delicate wildflower.
Details: Each vessel measures roughly 1/2” to 1” in height and width. Hand thrown porcelain.
A Note From Erika: The tiniest of tiny vases. I love these so much. It’s such a joy when they arrive- each one better than the next. Good luck trying to choose which one will be yours!
