Paper Balloon Card

$7.00

The Brand: This Norwich, England-based brand was established by Petra Boase herself in 1999. She and her husband, Russell, now run the brand drawing on their experience in textile design and children’s book illustration to offer a variety of high energy and fun goods. Together they look to their love of all things vintage—from 1950’s fabric to mid-century knick knacks and ephemera, to old comic books—to find inspiration for their designs.

Description: We love it when a card comes with a special prize! In this case, it is a traditional Japanese paper balloon. Each individual card comes with a balloon, folded flat and tucked inside. To use, simply blow in the hole which will force the balloon to expand and form into its delicate circular shaped character. The balloons can be flattened and blown up over and over again.

Details: risograph printing, folded card, blank inside, paper balloon inside to match front animal, kraft paper envelope, 4 1/4 x 6 inch card, balloon is roughly 4–5 inches around

A Note From Erika: My favorite part is inflating them. There is a little hole at the top of the flattened balloon and you just blow and POOF, a paper balloon! This card reminds me of how the Japanese give their children breakable things because it teaches them to be gentle. It’s a lovely sentiment and intention.
